What is speciation? How is speciation involved with a wood turtle? What environmental factors could affect your species and cause it to develop in two or more new species? Speciation is the formation of new and distinct species in the course of evolution. Speciation is involved with a wood turtle because wood turtles are becoming distinction throughout the United States. For example,An environmental factor that could affect my species is trees. If all of the wood turtles got attached to one tree, it's guaranteed that another species would be on there too. Mountains may help block the turtles off from moving from one place to the other. If turtles are stuck on wetlands with trees, wood turtles are not going to be the only ones on that wetland. After adaptation, the wood turtles will interbreed and start a new species! In addition, many wood turtles are becoming extinct because of how little eggs are acquired to produce and if they arrived at a suitable nesting area, there they may be disturbed.
